The village of Pyrgos lies in the middle of the island, 8km from Fira, and offers a taste of authentic Greek life, accompanied by a typically Mediterranean climate. Pyrgos sees warm spring and autumn days, and hot dry summers with an average temperature of 27.5C.

Although the tourist season on Santorini runs from May to October, spring sees warm weather, with the temperature in April reaching 19C, and the sun shining for about 8 hours each day. May heats up, with temperatures of 22C, and in general the days are fairly dry, but a little changeable, seeing a monthly rainfall average of 28mm. By June, the village is basking in 27C weather, and enjoying 13 hours of daily sunshine, whilst humidity is starting to rise. Peak season months see highs of up to 28C, with July and August experiencing the highest humidity levels, and visitors content to relax by the pools or head to the coast for the day. Summer evenings in Pyrgos see warm temperatures of 22C, meaning wonderful conditions for al-fresco dining or drinks and nightly strolls around town. Pyrgos and other regions inland see more humid conditions than the beaches, as they do not benefit from the cooling coastal breezes that blow across the shores, and the temperatures can also seem higher.
