Perissa Weather

Perissa lies on the east coast of the island, and offers a popular base on Santorini to soak up the brilliant Mediterranean sunshine all season long. The average summer temperature is 27.5C and with a glorious 13 hours of sun each day, conditions are ideal for a relaxing beach holiday for a week or two.

 

The holiday season in Perissa runs from May to October each year, with April seeing warm weather ideal for outdoor activities, sightseeing and touring the island, before it gets too hot. Temperatures at this time hover around 19C and there is 8 hours of sunshine, and the days can be changeable with up to 28mm of monthly rain. May heats up to 22C with 10 hours of sun, and by June, Perissa is enjoying highs of 27C and plenty of sunshine - as much as 13 hours every day. The sea temperature reaches 21C at this time, and humidity is beginning to rise. The peak season months of July to August see average daily temperatures of 27C - 28C, and the highest levels of humidity, with Perissa remaining extremely dry throughout the summer, receiving virtually no rainfall at all. The sea temperature heats up to 24C, making the waters ideal for swimming and water sports.

 

September stays hot, with average temperatures of 25C and 10 hours of sunshine, with the weather still very dry, seeing just 14mm of rain. By October, there is more changeable wetter weather as the town receives 61mm of rainfall, and the temperature drops to 22C, although Perissa does still experience 7 hours of sun. Winter holidays will remain mild, with the temperature not dropping below 14C even in the coolest months of January and February, and the off-season months seeing as much as 114mm of rain.
