Ialyssos Things to Do

Ialyssos boasts a fine example of a beautiful Rhodes beach. This large sand/pebble beach stretches far out into the distance and is the perfect place to sunbathe, swim or watch the stunning sunsets. Nearby Ixia beach has become one of the most fashionable beaches on Rhodes and provides excellent views over to the mountains of Turkey.

 

Ialyssos water sports can include windsurfing and many international windsurfing competitions take place here. Other water sports can include snorkelling, sailing and surfing. Nearby Ixia has two water sports centres providing jet-skis, kayaking and scuba diving.

 

Sightseeing on a holiday in Ialyssos can include the picturesque trip to the hilltop medieval monastery of Filerimos to view the ancient Greek temple. Filerimos is also the place to take in some horseback riding through the beautiful countryside. A tour of the Valley of the Butterflies at Petaloudhes with its one mile long gorge is a photographic opportunity not to be missed.

Day trips from Ialyssos can include Rhodes Town with its winding lanes, 16^th century architecture and traditional markets. Rhodes Town is also a hotspot for the best shopping options, restaurants, and bars on Rhodes. Head down to Rhodes harbour and take the hydrofoil to Marmaris in Turkey; the journey takes a mere 45 minutes. Other boat trips can include famous Greek islands such as Kos and Symi.
