When to go
The peak summer months are the most popular time to visit Ialyssos but the resort does come to life from March through November. The fantastic climate and beautiful beaches make Ialyssos an always popular beach resort, even during the early spring and late autumn months. The low season months during spring and autumn do bring a quiet and relaxed atmosphere, and these seasons are the best times to pick up discounts offered on flights and accommodation. In general, the school holiday periods such as Easter, August and October will be the most popular times and will come with higher prices.
The weather in Ialyssos
If you are a hot weather lover then the peak summer months from June through September will be the ideal time to visit. Daytime summer temperatures can easily head over 30C while the evenings will be a pleasant 23C. Humidity levels are low throughout the year and rainfall will tend to appear only during the November through March period. Spring and autumn are particularly beautiful seasons with temperatures creeping over 20C during late March and not dipping below this until late November. Winters in Ialyssos are still sunny with warm with temperatures of around 15C although some rainfall is normal.

Airport and transport need to know
There are frequent and direct flights to Rhodes Airport (RHO) from most major UK city airports from May through October. Flights outside of these months are still available but may be less frequent. Rhodes Airport provides a restaurant, café, currency exchange, banks, car hire facilities and metered taxis. Rhodes Airport is a mere 15 minutes from Ialyssos giving a very short transfer time to the resort. Taxi prices will be approximately 12 euros (£10) per journey.
Independently booking a taxi online is a convenient option and prices will be similar to taxi fares. Car hire is another good option if you wish to explore Rhodes; cars can be booked online with a price of around 123 euros (£100) per week. The best beaches in Ialyssos
Rhodes beaches are world famous for their unspoilt nature and crystal clear sea waters. Rhodes is home to some of the best white and golden sand beaches in Greece and you are never far from a secluded cove or busy resort beach. Ialyssos is lapped by the exceptionally clear Aegean Sea waters. Swimming is available for much of the year, sometimes as late as November, and watersports such as scuba diving, snorkelling and windsurfing are popular on Rhodes.
Ialyssos Beach is a long stretch of pebble and sand beach located just in front of the resort. This is one of the most popular beaches along this coastline and is a favourite with watersports enthusiasts. The winds here are ideal for windsurfing, and European windsurfing championships are held here every year. There are plenty of facilities at this beach including sun lounger hire, restaurants, bars and shops.
If you are taking a trip to Rhodes Town make sure to stop off at the beautiful golden sand beach at Ixia. This beach is popular with sunbathers, and you can hire a sun lounger and parasol and simply spend a few hours relaxing and swimming or enjoying the many watersports. The southern end of the beach is quieter and the perfect place to find your own secluded stretch of beach.
There are plenty of secluded coves along the Ialyssos coastline but if you are looking for one of the quietest and most picturesque beaches take a trip to Agios Georgios. A day trip will be needed as it is located around 70Km from Ialyssos, but this secluded spotless beach is one of the most beautiful on Rhodes.
