When to go
The summer season is by far the most popular period in Faliraki thanks to the 30C plus temperatures. The high season lasts from May through October but warm weather can be found for much of the year. The early spring and late autumn months are a quieter time and many of the bars and nightclubs will be closed during this period. But Faliraki is still an option if you are looking a more relaxed atmosphere with fewer crowds during the spring, autumn and even winter seasons.
The low seasons months are also the best time to pick discounted rates on flights and accommodation.
The weather in Faliraki
The climate in Faliraki is one of the main reasons for its lasting popularity and hot dry summers are the norm. You can expect daytime summer temperatures to head up to and over 30C from June through September and rainfall will be practically non-existent between May and September. The summer evening temperatures will be a warm 23C; perfect for the open air bars and restaurants. The temperature will still hover around 20C during March and November and will only dip below this during the short 15C winter months.
Getting the best deal
Faliraki is not an expensive holiday option and great deals can be found here all year round. The peak summer months are from June through August, and this school holiday period along with Easter and October will bring higher prices. Booking in advance is advisable to obtain good deals during the summer high season. The spring and autumn months are slightly quieter and good discounts are offered on flights and accommodation during both of these seasons.

Airport and transport need to know
Faliraki is served by Rhodes International Airport (RHO) and flights are available from May through October from most UK city airports. Flights outside of the summer season are still available but may be limited. Flight time to Rhodes is approximately four hours and facilities at the airport include a bar, cafeteria, currency exchange and car rental. Metered taxis are available from the airport and the fare to Faliraki will be approximately 15 euros (£12) per person with a transfer time of 40 minutes.
Independently booking a shuttle online to meet you at the airport is a good option and prices will be approximately the same as taxi fares. Car rental is another economical and convenient option if you wish to explore Rhodes; rental cars can be booked independently online. Car rental prices will be approximately 123 euros (£100) per week. The main roads are in good condition with driving on right side.
The best beaches in Faliraki
Rhodes is synonymous with idyllic beaches and consists of the Aegean Sea beaches of the north west and the Mediterranean Sea beaches on the south east. These golden beaches are some of the most unspoilt in Greece with exceptionally clean sea waters and high temperatures in which to enjoy them. With over 200km of coastline there is no shortage of lively resort beaches or secluded little coves and bays to enjoy.
Faliraki Beach is one of the most famous beaches on Rhodes and consists of five kilometres of golden sands. This is one of the most popular and lively beaches during the summer months but it’s also the place to simply relax on parasol covered sun loungers and enjoy swimming in the warm sea waters. This is the best beach from which to enjoy watersports such as water skiing, windsurfing and scuba diving. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops along the seafront promenade featuring traditional and modern dishes.
Head to Anthony Quinn Bay if you are looking for a quieter beach that doesn’t get too lively during the summer months. Located approximately 3km east of Faliraki this beautiful little cove features shallow, crystal clear waters and is the perfect place for peace and relaxation. Sun loungers are available here and there is one beach tavern located at the top of the bay.
There are plenty of little isolated coves bays along the Faliraki coastline and one of the more secluded beach spots can be found just next to Kathara Bay. Regarded as one of the prettiest beaches on Rhodes this beach does allow nudists and the shallow waters are ideal for swimming and snorkelling. A short walk to Kathara Bay and you can enjoy the many restaurants and bars for a meal or cool drink.
