Highs can reach 30C, but the island is blessed with coastal winds, which makes it a haven for windsurfers. Spring and autumn see highs of around 20C, with winters being mild, but wetter.

Airport and Transport Need to Know
The island has no airport, so for holidays to Lefkas, fly from London Gatwick or Manchester to Preveza Airport (PVK). The airport is located just 25km away, and it’s a 20-minute drive from the island. Lefkas is the only Greek island that is accessible by car, as it is connected to the mainland via a floating bridge. Taxis are also available from the airport, charging a fixed rate to Lefkas, and there are car rental offices at the airport. Driving is recommended, as it’s straightforward and a great way to explore the island. One of the most famous on the island, Kathisma Beach is a long sandy stretch, extending for 2km, with a spectacular setting on the west coast. Best beach for activities – Vassiliki
Thanks to its south-facing position and steady offshore breezes, Vassiliki is known as the best spot on the island for windsurfing and kitesurfing, seeing plenty of enthusiasts all season long. For secluded sunbathing, head to Mylos, a remote beach on the rugged west coast, accessible via a steep footpath. There are no facilities, here, just a spectacular soft sandy beach with crystal clear waters, and stunning views.
