Weather in Marmari - High temperatures, plenty of sunshine 

The town of Marmari lies on the north coast of Kos just west of Tingaki and 15km from Kos Town, and offers a quiet holiday resort for visitors. Boasting a typically-Mediterranean climate, with hot dry summers and mild winters, Marmari is an ideal base for a peaceful beach getaway on the island, seeing an average temperature of 31C during the summer, and up to 14 hours of sunshine each day.

 

Spring sees warm weather on Kos, with Marmari experiencing highs of 20C and 9 hours of daily sunshine, and generally dry conditions with only 36mm of rain. The tourist season starts in May, with these early days ideal for sightseeing and exploring the island before the weather really heats up. Temperatures rise to 24C in May, with 11 hours of sun, and by June, Marmari is enjoying daytime highs of 29C. There is limited rainfall, with just a few millimetres falling each month throughout the summer, and evening temperatures remain pleasant, with the highs of 20C meaning plenty of al-fresco dining and nightly strolls. Peak season in Marmari sees average daytime highs of 32C, and the sun shining for 14 hours each day, and together with the warm sea temperatures of 24 - 26C, conditions are ideal for relaxing on the beach. Thanks to the exposed west-facing beach, the resort is ideal for windsurfing and sailing, especially when the northern meltemi winds blow in July and August.           

 

The hot weather continues into September, with the highs of 29C and 11 hours of daily sun cooling in October, when the daytime temperature drops to 24C. There is more rain during this late-season period, with around 59mm falling, increasing to 169mm in the winter months. Temperatures remain mild, however, with the coolest months of January and February seeing lows of 14C.
