Kos Town Weather

The main town on the island sits on the north-east coast, just 20km from the airport. Being a lively and bustling centre, Kos Town sees many visitors each season, and experiences a typically Mediterranean climate with hot dry summers, and an annual average temperature of 22C. 

 

Springtime on the island sees warm dry weather, perfect for touring and sightseeing around town. April highs reach 20C, and there is a pleasant 9 hours of sun each day with just 35mm of rain, whilst May heats up to 24C, with an increase in sunshine and less rain. June in Kos Town begins to get hotter, with average daytime temperatures of 29C and up to 13 hours of sun, and the town sees dry weather from now until September, with just 2 - 8mm of rainfall each month. Conditions can seem very hot in town, with humidity increasing at this time too. Peak season months in Kos Town experience soaring highs of 32C and as much as 14 hours of daily sunshine, with the best time to visit the town being early or late in the day.     

 

There's hot weather in Kos Town well into the autumn, with September experiencing highs of 29C, 11 hours of daily sun, and increased rainfall, with up to 17mm falling. October begins to cool down, with temperatures of 24C, and the weather is more changeable during this month, when Kos Town sees 59mm of rain. Winters are wetter, with an average of 169mm of rainfall in December and January, however the town stays mild, with lows of 14C during these off-season months.
