Weather in Spartia - Mediterranean climate in the Ionian Islands
The resort of Spartia lies on the south coast of Kefalonia, just 10 minutes from the capital, Argostoli, and close to the neighbouring towns of Lourdas, Trapezaki and Lassi. Sitting in a sheltered bay, the beach is ideal for quiet relaxation, and, thanks to the typically-Mediterranean climate with hot dry summers and mild winters, makes a perfect base for sunbathing, sailing and windsurfing.  
 
Spartia Weather - Ideal conditions for sunbathing, plenty of sunshine
Spring brings warm weather to Spartia, with April temperatures hovering around 17C, and the town seeing 7 hours of sunshine each day. Conditions are ideal for touring the countryside and taking walks, hikes and bike rides, and exploring the tiny Kefalonian towns in the region, as the days are generally dry, with 58mm of rain during the month. May heats up to 22C, with the sun shining for 9 hours every day, the monthly rainfall level dropping to 33mm, and the waters of the Ionian Sea beginning to warm up, reaching 18C. Visitors relax on the beach in June, when average daytime temperatures rise to 26C, and by July and August the town is basking in 29C temperatures with around 13 hours of sun each day and an increased humidity level. The sea temperature rises to 26C during these peak season months, and conditions are ideal for windsurfing and sailing in the bay, which is sheltered from the north-westerly winds that blow along the coast.  
 
Weather in Spartia - Wetter autumn months, mild winters
The resort stays hot into September, with average daytime highs of 26C and 9 hours of sunshine, however by October, when it is still warm with temperatures of 21C, the level of rainfall begins to increase. During the month, Spartia sees an average of 133mm of rain, which rises to 180mm in November and December, when conditions are wet but still mild, with average daytime temperatures of 12C. This wet weather helps to keep the island green and lush during the year, and is seen throughout the islands in the Ionian Sea.
