Weather in Sami - Mediterranean climate on northern Kefalonia
Sami is situated on the south-east coast of Kefalonia, just 25km from the capital, Argostoli. A working port, the town experiences a dry Mediterranean like climate, with hot summers and mild wet winters, and an average annual daytime temperature of 19C.
Sami Weather - Hot sunny summers, ideal for the beach
Spring sees warm weather in Sami, with average temperatures in April and May reaching 17C - 22C, and the sun shining for 7 - 9 hours each day. There is limited rainfall, around 37mm - 60mm each month, and these dry days are ideal for sightseeing, exploring the ancient ruins, and touring the countryside inland on hikes, bikes and horse rides. By June, Sami is heating up and the average daytime temperature reaches 26C, with 11 hours of sunshine, and the resort seeing an increasing level of humidity. Visitors head to the local beaches in the summer months, and can enjoy al-fresco evening meals and strolls as the night time temperature hovers around 15C. Temperatures during the peak season months of July and August soar to 29C, and the sun shines for up to 13 hours each day, meaning ideal weather for the beach, especially when the waters of the Ionian Sea reach 24C - 26C.

January and February see the coldest weather, with average daytime temperatures of just 12C.
