Things to do in Platys Yialos
Beaches
Platis Yialos, along with Makris Yialos, is the focus of Lassi, with the wide sandy beach here considered the best on the island. Ideal for families, the Blue Flag stretch, with its golden sands and shallow clear seas, have plenty of convenient facilities for visitors such as umbrellas, loungers, changing rooms and showers, and is kept clean throughout the season.

Water sports
Water sports on offer include pedalos, ringos, banana boat rides, jetskiing, water skiing, wake boarding, speedboat rental and the crystal-clear waters make it a popular spot for snorkelling.

Sports
Some hotels and apartments have swimming pools, tennis courts and table-tennis. For a fun day out with the family, there is a go-karting track in Lassi.

Walking and cycling
There are lovely coastal walks to take, as well as hikes in Kefalonia's mountainous interior, full of olive groves and citrus trees. Cycling is also a great way to get around and explore Lassi and beyond, thanks to the flat terrain around the coast.

Argostoli
Argostoli, the capital, is a 15 minute walk away, and easily accessible by bus or cab. Visitors can stroll around the natural harbour and along the promenade, relax over a drink or meal in the main square and enjoy some shopping in the local market.

Day trips
Many of the island's sights are accessible from Platis Yialos, and a rental car allows visitors to fully explore Kefalonia. Towns such as Fiskado, Skala and Sami make good day trips, and for scenic boat rides, ferries depart Argostoli for Zante, Lefkas and Ithaca.
