Lourdas Things To Do

Stretching for a kilometer, the sand and shingle Blue Flag beach at Lourdas is the main feature of the resort. Accessed via a steep hill and sitting in a bay, the beach is backed by cypress trees and boasts great views, and also offers convenient sunbeds and a beach bar. Other quieter beaches to visit nearby include Lithero, Trapezaki, Katsonas and Spartia.

 

There are water sports available from the beach at Lourdas, including jet-skiing and paragliding, as well as motor boat rental.

 

Hotels and villas in Lourdas have swimming pools and tennis courts, and the village has a riding school.

 

Boat trips in the Ionian Sea are a popular day out, with excursions around the island and trips to neighbouring Zante and Ithica.

 

Visitors can explore the coastal regions on foot, and away from the beach, Lourdas has access to some beautiful countryside, with scenic walks and hikes available for a change of scene.

 

Lourdas has 20 local tavernas to choose from, many based in and around the shady village square. Enjoy traditional Greek specialities, and a range of freshly-caught fish and seafood for a leisurely lunch or dinner.

 

There are many picturesque fishing village to visit along the coast, and quiet bays and coves for peaceful sunbathing. Argostoli lies 15-minutes away, and offers shopping and plenty of cafes and tavernas to visit, as well as a local market to browse, whilst monasteries to visit include St. Andreas, St. Gerasimos and Sisia. Further afield, attractions include Mousata Canyon, and Melissani and Drogara Caves near Sami.
