Weather in Lassi –Mediterranean climate in a purpose-built resort
Located on Kefalonia’s south-west coast, Lassi enjoys a Mediterranean climate: hot dry summers, and mild, wetter winters. Summer temperatures can reach 30C – making trips to any one of the superb beaches in and around Lassi essential! Throughout June, July and August expect little rainfall. Lassi’s average winter temperature is 14C – perfect weather for exploring the Livathos region. Rainfall is relatively high throughout the winter season, and you will need an extra layer at night as the maximum night-time temperature at that time of year can fall to 6C.
Lassi Weather – Months of glorious summer sunshine
The tourist summer season at Lassi stretches from May to September. The heat gradually intensifies with each passing month, with the temperature during July and August climbing to 30C. This, combined with the fact that Lassi enjoys 13 hours’ sunshine daily through July, means a refreshing paddle or swim in the cool local waters will feel great. If uninterrupted scorching weather is not really for you, wait until early September to catch that Kefalonia-bound flight, as the temperature in Lassi then is a little more comfortable at 27C – good weather for walking, cycling and exploring the local area, while still picking up a decent tan.
Weather in Lassi – Mild, wetter winters, warmer weather with the arrival of spring
The average autumn temperature in Lassi (during October and November) is 20C. As the nights draw in and rain becomes more frequent, you will experience days which alternate between being sunny and cloudy as winter looms and the last of the summer tourists finally head home. Rainfall over the winter months of December, January and February usually works out at around 11 or 12 days per month. With the average winter temperature being 13C, the arrival of spring and the gradual rise in temperature up to a warming 20C at the end of April makes walks to the Katovothres Sinkholes (a geological phenomenon) and the popular picture-book lighthouse close-by a pleasant afternoon’s sightseeing indeed.
