Katelios Things to Do

Unsurprisingly, there is no ultra-commercial beach set-up at Katelios. But what Katelios can offer you is a stunning broad bay with two long curving beaches within walking distance of the village – perfect for a quiet few hours each afternoon working on your tan, before returning for dinner at one of the traditional tavernas. What’s more, the shallow waters at Katelios mean that swimming is safe. It is also the perfect way to cool off as the summer sun gradually intensifies towards July. With other beaches close by, at Kaminia, Mounda Bay, and the busy resort of Skala, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding upon which beach to head for each day.

 

Potomakia beach to the east of Katelios provides an opportunity to see turtles. Many visitors to Katelios say how observing the turtles at such close proximity really add something special to their Katelios holiday break.

 

After a long day topping up your tan, why not spend a quiet but pleasant evening enjoying a drink or a meal in one of Katelios’s tavernas? For something more substantial, a drive into Argostoli or Skala will open upon a broader choice of eateries, with cafes and restaurants offering delicious meals hearty enough to satisfy even the hungriest amongst your party.

 

Although Katelios is sometimes regarded by holidaymakers as a tranquil ‘retreat’ rather than a resort, owing to its laid-back, unhurried feel, that is not to say you cannot diversify a little during your stay and check out neighbouring resorts where things can get a little livelier. In fact, the bus network makes this easy, with connections to the island’s capital Argostoli, as well as the bustling resort of Skala.
