Weather in Aghia Efimia –Mediterranean climate on Kefalonia’s beautiful east coast  

Situated 5 miles north of Sami and 20 miles from Argostoli and the airport, Aghia Efimia has forged a reputation for being one of Kefalonia’s ‘favourite’ holiday destinations. The weather there might have something to do with it! Aghia Efimia enjoys a typically-Mediterranean climate, with hot dry summers and mild, wetter winters. The maximum summer temperature in Aghia Efimia is 30C – perfect for topping up your tan on Paradise Beach. With only occasional rainfall during the summer, for the most part you can look forward to a sundrenched holiday break from your first day to your last. The average winter temperature is 13C, with about 12 days’ rain per month throughout the winter season.

The tourist season in Aghia Efimia stretches from May to September, with July and August being the hottest summer months as the temperature soars to 30C. Throughout July you can expect 13 hours’ sunshine per day (with June and August also weighing-in with 12 hours’ sunshine daily). You can still pick up a tan in the ‘cooler’ months (May and September) as the average temperature then is a pleasant 25C.

 

As temperatures throughout October and November average out at 19C, autumn is a great time for exploring the dramatic surrounding countryside or enjoying excursions to local resorts, such as Fiskardo and Assos, or to the capital Argostoli. Rainfall becomes increasingly likely, of course, as winter draws near. Also expect even cooler weather throughout the winter season (December to February), with temperatures at an average of 13C and rainfall definitely expected. March and April are the spring months in Aghia Efimia, with an average temperature of 17C making the picturesque resort a comfortable haven for those who place finding peace and tranquillity above getting an amazing tan or thrashing their mates at water sports!
