Myrties Weather

Situated on the island of Kalymnos, Myrties has the Mediterranean climate that holidaymakers enjoy. Dry and hot throughout the summer months, temperatures can reach 32C in July making for a very enjoyable beach holiday. The coastal winds keep the humidity at a reasonable level and provide superb conditions for water sports enthusiasts. Wetter in the winter and spring, rarely does the temperature fall below 13C and many people take advantage of a break at this time of year, with numbers of rock climbers arriving as conditions are ideal for beginners and experts alike.

 

During July and August the temperatures can climb to 32C, but the meltemi winds blowing from the north provide a cooling breeze and keep the humidity levels down. The winds also provide superb conditions for sailing and wind-surfing. Rainfall is minimal during the summer and with the crystal clear waters ideal for swimming and water sports Myrties is an ideal summer holiday destination for lazing on the beach or a more active break.

 

With the Mediterranean temperatures rarely dropping below 13C even in January, Myrties is a great destination for that spring or winter holiday. In April and May the weather can bring showers and be slightly more unpredictable. In the winter months heavier rainfall can be expected, keeping the island green throughout the year. With the mild temperatures, the island of Kalymnos provides excellent conditions for the many rock climbers from around the world who arrive at this time of year.
