Tavronitis is located in an area bathed in ancient history and there are several significant historical sites that can be visited on a day trip away from the town. The Avia Gonia monastery is located in Kolimbari and well worth a visit for the fantastic hilltop views out to sea. Alternatively, visit the Cave of Samona to uncover the area’s natural history in the impressive stalactites and flowstones and add a whole new perspective to your holiday in Tavronitis.
