Maleme Weather – One of the best climates in Europe
Stunning beaches, beautiful sunsets and a hot climate in which to enjoy them are natural attractions to a holiday in Maleme. This relaxing resort is located on Crete’s northern coastline an area famed for its abundance of hot sunny weather. Temperatures in Maleme will head over 20C during April and will not usually dip below this until late November. Maleme boasts a typically Mediterranean climate, which means a mix of long hot summers and short mild winters. Crete’s north coast does have slightly cooler temperatures than the south but summer highs can still reach well over 30C.
 
Weather in Maleme – The perfect summer beach weather
Around 12 hours of hot sunshine per day, almost no rainfall and high temperatures are the norm in Maleme. The long hot summer days begin in May, and the summer season stretches until late October. June, July and August are the hottest months with temperatures in Maleme reaching 30C and over. Rainfall levels will become minimal during April and will not usually reappear until late October. Humidity levels in Maleme are also relatively low during the summer months making exploring Crete a comfortable pleasure. The warm sea waters are perfect for swimming, diving and snorkelling from May until late October.

The abundance of sunshine in Maleme does mean that a holiday is achievable outwith the summer months. November can be unpredictable and there will be some rainfall but temperatures will be around 21C and swimming is still possible until mid November. The Easter holiday period during April will see the Maleme area awash with blooming flowers and warm weather for around eight hours per day. Winter in Maleme will be cooler and more relaxed with higher levels of rainfall but there will still be plenty of warm sunny days to enjoy.
