Kamisiani Weather

The coastal village of Kamisiani lies in western Crete, 25km west of the town of Chania. Small and unspoilt, Kamisiani experiences a typically-Mediterranean climate, with hot dry summers and mild winters, and is an ideal spot for a quiet relaxing beach holiday. With its westerly location, the resort sees slightly higher temperatures and more sunshine than other towns on the eastern coast of Crete. 

 

Kamisiani, like other resorts on the island, enjoys a longer-than-average tourist season, which runs from April to October. The start of the season sees warm weather, with April experiencing average daytime highs of 19C and 8 hours of sunshine, and these cooler days are ideal for exploring western Crete, and touring scenic towns such as Chania. With just 32mm of rain during the month, the weather is generally dry, meaning great conditions for outdoor activities such as walks and bike rides through the countryside and along the coast. May sees hotter weather, rising to 23C, and June heats up to 28C, with as much as 12 hours of sunshine each day, and increasing humidity. The beach at Kamisiani is the place to be in the summer, when the daytime highs reach 29C and there can be as much as 13 hours of sun, and the coastal waters reach temperatures of 25C - great for swimming. Rainfall is virtually non-existent during the peak season, with the months from June to August receiving less than 4mm each.     

September remains hot and very sunny, seeing daytime highs of 27C and 10 hours of sun, and October sees the season come to a close, with temperatures dropping to 22C. During this month, there is significantly more rain - up to 77mm - with winter seeing much wetter weather, and January receiving the most - an average of 137mm during the month. Temperatures remain mild from November to February - with Kamisiani seeing lows of 14C.
