Weather in Georgioupolis - Sunny days at the beach on Crete's north coast
Located on the north coast of Crete, in between the towns of Chania and Rethmynon, Georgioupolis is a major beach resort, which sees wonderful hot sunny weather for most of the year. Experiencing a typically-Mediterranean climate, Georgioupolis sees high summer temperatures of 30C, and as much as 12 hours of sunshine each day.
 
Georgioupolis Weather - Long tourist season, hot dry conditions
April sees the beginning of the longer-than-average tourist season in Georgioupolis, with highs of 20C, and the sun shining for 8 hours every day. There is limited rainfall, with just 32mm falling at this time, and these warm spring days are ideal for touring the green countryside, which is in bloom with colourful wildflowers, and enjoying outdoor activities such as tennis, horse-riding, cycling and hiking. The days heat up in May, when temperatures reach 24C, and by June, the average daytime high in Georgioupolis has risen to 28C, and there is 12 hours of sun every day. The peak season months of July and August see the hottest weather of the year, with highs of 30C, and the most humidity, as well as very warm night-time temperatures of 21C, great for long leisurely meals in the open-air cafes and tavernas, and evening strolls around the resort.      
 
Weather in Georgioupolis - Milder winters, wetter days
The weather is still lovely and hot in September, with highs of 27C, only dropping to 23C in October, and the resort still seeing 6 - 10 hours of sunshine each day. September is dry, with just 19mm of rain; however there is more rainfall in October, when the month receives 80mm. Winters remain mild, with the temperature just dropping to 14C in the coolest month, January.
