Messonghi Things to do

Messonghi beach is a beautifully clean stretch of sand that is popular with families and couples. This is a typically relaxed Corfu beach boasting crystal clear waters and views over to mainland Greece. There are plenty of water sports available and lovely tavernas and restaurants by the beachfront.

Water sports in Messonghi and nearby Moraitika Beach include jet-skiing, windsurfing, pedal boats and boat hire. Diving here is popular and there is a dive centre a short walk from Messonghi at Moraitika beach that will provides lessons and dive excursions.

Sightseeing here can include the traditional village of Chlomos located 4Km from Messonghi providing spectacular views over the Ionian Sea to the islands of Paxos and Antipaxos. Lake Korision will be of an interest to wildlife lovers and a stop at the Byzantian fortress can be included in the trip. Boat trips from nearby Corfu Town can include the Greek Islands and a day trip to Albania.

 

Corfu Town is a mere 14 miles from Messonghi and is worth more than one visit. Home to 40,000 people, Corfu Town is a cosmopolitan mix of old and new Corfu with its Venetian architecture, winding streets and modern bars and restaurants. It is also the place to sit at Europe’s larges town square, sip a cool drink and watch the hustle and bustle of this vibrant city.

 

Attractions in and around Messonghi can include a trip to Aqualand, one of the largest water parks in Europe. Golf lovers can take the short trip to Ropa Valley and take in a round or two at one of Europe’s most stunning golf courses. A night out in Corfu’s party capital of Kavos will make an exciting alternative to laid back Messonghi, and nearby Moraitika also provides a range of nightlife options.
