Kommeno Things To Do

The beach at Kommeno sits in a natural bay between Gouvia and Dassia, and boasts clear waters for swimming. Backed by lush green hills and offering wonderfully scenic views, it's a quiet base for sunbathing, with a peaceful atmosphere and a real sense of seclusion. 

 

Dassia, next door, offers some of the best water sports on the island, with facilities for wind surfing, jet skiing, water skiing, paragliding, canoeing, wakeboarding, scuba diving and snorkelling.

 

Hotels in the resort have swimming pools, tennis courts, fitness centres and gyms, table tennis and exercise classes, and the resort has mountain bike rental and horse riding available nearby.

 

Inland, the terrain is ideal for walking, with the lush olive groves and citrus trees hiding a host of trails and paths, and visitors are rewarded with the chance to see local wildlife, flora and fauna, marvel at stunning scenery, and discover a sense of the real Corfu.             

 

The resort has a slow pace of life and a laid-back charm, with nightlife mainly in the form of leisurely dinners and evening drinks in the local tavernas, and the more exclusive hotels offering activities and nightly entertainment. For more action, head to nearby Dassia or Gouvia for a change of scene.

 

The main town on the island is just 12km away, and offers a host of attractions, from the Venetian harbour and the impressive architecture throughout, to its museums, galleries and architectural sites. There's the charming Old Town to explore, full of plenty of shopping and dining opportunities, as well as shady squares and historic churches to tour.
