Inside the resort are a dozen or so all-inclusive hotel complexes, an 18-hole golf course, 2 casinos, horse riding areas, fun parks, discos, nightclubs and more. The Gran Ventana hotel boasts an enviable location right on Playa Dorada beach. A huge range of watersports can be enjoyed here, including kayaking, water skiing, jet skiing and of course scuba diving. The sea is warm, clean and full of brightly coloured tropical fish. Within walking distance are the bars and restaurants of the Play Dorada Shopping Plaza. The airport is approximately 15km away.

 

Accommodation at the Gran Ventana hotel consists of 506 stylish and elegantly decorated rooms. Rooms are spacious, well-equipped and very clean. Double rooms come with 2 double beds or a king-sized bed. Junior suites are larger and have an additional seating area, dining table and coffee making facilities. Family rooms, consisting of two rooms next to each other, are available to book for a supplement. All rooms come with satellite TV, air conditioning, a mini bar, telephone, hairdryer, safety deposit box, full bathroom with WC and balcony or terrace.

 

The Gran Ventana offers a great range of facilities. The centrepiece of the hotel has to be the large, free-form swimming pool with its surrounding sun terraces, dotted with palm trees and lush tropical vegetation. A thatched roof ‘swim-up bar’ serves drinks here throughout the day. There is also a ‘quiet pool’ – ideal for those who want to relax in peace and quiet, with its own pool bar – the Tiki bar. Guests can choose from a range of dining options – there is a main buffet restaurant serving a variety of dishes, the Octopus restaurant for Caribbean cuisine, the Ocean Grill for seafood and steak and an Italian restaurant. As part of the all-inclusive package, the hotel includes 1 hour of bicycling, kayaking, windsurfing‚ sailing‚ snorkelling and tennis a day, as well as 1 scuba diving session per stay. Other facilities include a sauna, beauty salon, shop, tennis courts, a gym and internet access.
