Beaches
The local beach, Pinarello, offers an ideal spot for quiet and relaxed sunbathing, with other famous beaches along the south eastern coast, such as Palombaggia and Santa Giulia, making great day trips from St Lucie de Porto Vecchio.
 
Sports
Water sports available on the local beaches include windsurfing, water skiing, canoeing and surfing. Snorkelling and scuba diving in the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean are also popular activities. 
 
Boat Trips
There are many excursions offered from the nearby harbour at Porto Vecchio, including boat trips around the southern coastline taking in hidden caves and grottoes, as well as day trips to the Lavezzi Islands and the Cavello Islands.
 
Walking & Hiking
The diverse interior of Corsica makes the island a haven for walking and hiking, ideal for leisurely strolls and more strenuous treks. Hikers can explore the Alta Rocca Mountains around St Lucie de Porto Vecchio, as well as the scenic Ospendale Forest, whilst the famous GR20 trail - the toughest long distance trail in Europe - can be accessed from the neighbouring town of Conca.  
 
Cycling
From the pine forests to the rugged mountains, avid cyclists have plenty of ground to cover from their base at St Lucie de Porto Vecchio. Mountain bikes can be rented in the area, and there are organised rides and excursions around the island.  
 
Sports
Tennis, horse riding, quad biking and rock climbing can be enjoyed whilst in St Lucie de Porto Vecchio. Corsica's only golf course, Sperone, is located in Bonifacio, with this highly-rated course offering not only great conditions, but a beautifully wild setting with fantastic views.
 
Day Trips
The sophisticated town of Porto Vecchio, with its vibrant marina and stylish bars and restaurants, is just a few kilometres away, whilst the historic Bonifacio on the southern tip is a recommended day trip, home to the ancient Citadel, a charming Old Town and breathtaking cliff-top views. Other sights to see include the famous granite Bavella Needles and local mountain villages such as Zonza, whilst a car allows visitors to fully explore and tour the island, taking in towns further north such as Ajaccio, Calvi, St Florent and Bastia.
