Sisco Things to Do
Beaches
Sisco is located just inland from the eastern coast of Corsica, home to some of the most picturesque beaches on the island. Sisco does have its own sandy little beach that is perfect for swimming and snorkelling. The immense stretch of sand at Pietracorbara is one of the most popular beaches on the eastern coast. Holidaymakers can easily find a stretch of secluded sand to relax and soak up the hot sunshine.
Sightseeing
Sightseeing on a holiday in Sisco can include tours around the beautiful harbours and villages of Cap Corse. The picturesque fishing port of Erbalunga with its winding streets and sunny square will provide a taste of the authentic village life. Erbalunga is also home to the annual jazz festival during August. Bastia is Corsica’s second largest town and holds a wealth of shopping opportunities not to mention the seafood restaurants by the harbour.
Sports Activities
There is no shortage of sports activities in Sisco and the scenic countryside is ideal for horseback riding, cycling and trekking. Golf lovers can make the short trip to the Golf de Sperone located at the southern tip of Cap Corse featuring unbeatable views over the Mediterranean. Canyoning, abseiling, fishing and paragliding are also available within easy reach of Sisco.
Boat Trips
Holidaymakers can take many boat trips from Sisco via the port of Bastia. Trips can include a ferry ride to Livorno in Italy, a city awash with Italian culture and sightseeing attractions. Sailing around Cap Corse will provide dramatic views of the rugged coastline and can include stops at beaches that are inaccessible by car such as the Desert des Agriates.
Dining Out
Corsica is world famous for its local wines, and the French and Italian dishes served in the restaurants in Sisco are second to none. The seafood and fish dishes are the freshest available and there is a wine festival for those visiting in July.
