Propriano is an established holiday destination on the southwest coast of Corsica which manages to offer a commercial centre with a multitude of tourist facilities whilst retaining its traditional charm. Accessible from either Ajaccio or Figari airports, holidays in Propriano revolve around the sandy beaches of the Valinco Gulf and the lively ports of the village which welcome a host of yachts, ferries and fishing boats throughout the season.

Despite being a popular seaside destination Propriano can be relaxed and unhurried, suiting families or couples looking for great beaches with plenty of activities, and a laid-back atmosphere. Propriano offers no less than five sandy beaches to choose from accessible from the town, the most popular being Plage du Phare. To the north and south of Propriano are the long impressive sandy beaches of Porto Pollo and Campomoro, great for family days out. Holidays in Propriano will suit the active visitor, with a wealth of watersports available, from water-skiing and wind-surfing, to jet-skiing and sailing, and the rocky coves around the resort of Propriano are perfect for snorkelling and scuba-diving. Away from the beach you will also find tennis and mini-golf, with horse-riding, pony-trekking, mountain-biking and hiking available in the rugged hills around the resort.
Relaxed and laid-back, offering plenty of activities
Propriano gives visitors the chance to soak up the atmosphere of a Corsican seaside resort, with plenty of quayside bars and cafes in which to sit and relax, and a great choice of restaurants to try each evening, many specialising in the delicious fish and seafood of the area. Visitors to Propriano could also travel inland to the prehistoric site at Filitosa or visit Corsicas' largest city, Ajaccio. Other resorts and towns to visit during your stay in Propriano include Sartene, Tizzano and Porto Vecchio.
Weather in Propriano
Many visitors head to Propriano for specialist walking and hiking holidays, with the pleasant spring weather offering ideal conditions for outdoor activities, and perfect temperatures for sightseeing and touring. April and May see temperatures of between 15C - 18C, and an average of 7 - 9 hours of sunshine each day. The days are fairly dry, with beween 43mm - 55mm of rainfall. June sees higher temperatures of 22C, and at least 10 hours of sun every day, and during this month the waters of the Mediterranean hover around 20C. Temperatures reach 26C in the peak season months of July and August, when the sea temperature is 23C - 24C and the sun shines for 11 hours each day. Visitors during this time generally head to the sandy beaches for sunbathing and water sports, and with a nighttime temperature of 17C, evenings are ideal for al fresco meals along the port and after-dinner strolls.
