The Gulf of Valinco is arguably the most beautiful on the west side of Corsica. Propriano is the main town in the region and is a fantastic place to visit with its lively port and various good restaurants coupled with its spectacular backdrop. The Rizzanese River boasts rock pools and river bathing for those common hot summer days, and the Baracci hot springs are a delightful place to relieve stress and relax.

There are many places of note in the Gulf of Valinco. Apart from Propriano, other charming towns such as Campomoro, an enchanting and friendly village should not be neglected. Indeed Cappiciolo, with its golden sandy beaches is perhaps one of the most picturesque spots in the gulf.

With its many beaches, and vast waters, the Gulf of Valinco provides some of the best sports and activities that you will encounter on any package holiday. Waterskiing and windsurfing are readily available at many of the beaches, as are sailing and scuba diving. If watersports aren’t your thing then other activities such as horseriding, hiking and walking, and also climbing are all possibilities. And for the more adventurous, you can even take microlite flights and other aerial activities at some destinations within the gulf. Weather in the Gulf of Valinco

Summers are hot in the Gulf of Valinco, with the height of the season seeing daytime temperatures of 26C, and night time highs of 17C. The coast does see some breezes to temper the heat, and the humidity level remains moderate. Weather in the summer is dry, with the Gulf of Valinco receiving between 13mm - 25mm of rain during the peak season months of July and September. From May onwards, the sun shines for a minimum of 9 hours each day, peaking to 11 hours in July. The sea is ideal for swimming and all types of water sports at this time, with the summer months seeing warm waters and temperatures between 23C - 24C. Spring and autumn see the best conditions for outdoor activities, such as biking and hiking, when the weather is cooler but there is still plenty of sunshine each day. Average temperatures during this time range from 15C - 19C.
