Erbalunga Things To Do

Driving
Erbalunga is situated on the coast of Cap Corse, a rugged peninsula offering a great driving experience. On your Erbalunga holiday, you can complete the whole circuit in four hours, but always drive clockwise to keep the steep drops on the far side of the road. You'll see tiny ports on the east side and villages set on rocky cliffs on the west side.
The village
Erbalunga is one of those east-side fishing ports on a promontory complete with little fishing boats. On holiday in Erbalunga, there's plenty to amuse yourself with on a trip around the village, including a selection of cafés and restaurants. Those who enjoy horses can book treks, from one hour to a full day, into the local mountains and along the beaches at the local horseriding centre. Walkers will enjoy the rugged landscape and a hike up to the Genoese tower on the headland, while jazz fans will enjoy the festival held at Erbalunga each August. Art events add to the sense of culture.
Beach life
A lot of the local beaches on your Erbalunga holiday are shingle, so make sure you pack flip-flops. The water is clear and you'll enjoy snorkelling from the rocks that skirt the town. Venture just a few kilometres north to Pietracorbara and you'll find crystal water, a place to eat and a watersports facility where packages for adults and children take in windsurfing, canoeing and sailing.
Good Friday procession
Take your holidays in Erbalunga at Easter and you might experience the town's famous Good Friday procession, the Cerca. The event was once an ancient fertility rite. This religious procession sees hooded penitents from the local religious brotherhood move by candlelight in a spiral that unwinds into the village square.
