Directline Holidays FAQs

What is the new Easyjet check-in policy?
What is the new Easyjet check-in policy? From 30 April all passengers should check in for their flights online. There will no longer be check-in desks at the airport – all desks will be branded as Bag Drop desks. What are the benefits of the new Easyjet policy? Benefits for customers include shorter queues at airports, especially for customers with cabin baggage only as they can go straight to airport security and the departure area. Easyjet also offer the facility for customers to check in for all their flights, including their return flight, before they leave home (as long as the flights are included on the same booking and the return flight departs within 30 days of your outbound flight). Many airlines only enable you to check in 24 hours before each flight.   What happens if I don’t check in online? Can they check I check-in at the airport for a fee? From 30 April easyJet check-in will be online only and there will be no check-in desks at the airport. These will be replaced by Bag Drop desks. In the short term Easyjet will offer limited fee-free facilities at airports to check in customers at bag drop desks if they haven‟t checked in online. We will be reviewing this policy over the coming months, for this reason, it’s vital that you MUST check in online from 30 April   What if I have booked Speedy Boarding?
There will be a dedicated Speedy Boarding Bag Drop desk.
Does easyJet have self-service kiosks where passengers can print their boarding pass at the airport? No. You will need to print your boarding pass before you get to the airport. Will all Airports have Easyjet online check-in only? Yes, online check-in will be available for all easyJet flights from 30 April. For airports in Morocco, Jordan, Egypt and Kosovo, customers will be able to check in online but will then need to present their online boarding pass at the Bag Drop desk for a validity stamp. The validity stamp is a legal requirement for departure from these airports, so, even if customers are travelling with cabin baggage only, they need to make sure they arrive at the Bag Drop desk in plenty of time. What happens with group bookings? Most group bookings, will allow passengers to check in online using their booking reference and surname via Online Check-in at easyJet.com. Please note that many routes also require Advanced Passenger Information to be added to the booking before you are able to commence Online Check-in and print boarding passes.
Passengers who are part of a group booking made by a small number of specific tour operators, Thomas Cook will not currently be able to check in online at this time. Easyjet are working on a solution to this, which they hope to put in place at the earliest opportunity.). Passengers booked with Thomas Cook and travelling with easyJet should check-in at the airport bag drop desks.

What is Advanced Passenger Infromation ( API ) and why do I need to provide it?
It is a requirement of some countries that passenger information is submitted electronically to them before your arrival. The collection of this information is a simple process. Airlines will collect it by swiping your passport through a special machine at check-in. In addition to this some airlines may have a requirement for you to provide your API information via a link on their website a minimum of 24 or 48 hours prior to your arrival at airport for departure.

We will endeavour to notify you of any requirements for API information on your booking confirmation so please read this carefully to see if any action will be required prior to your day of departure.
I am pregnant can I fly?
Different airlines apply different rules to women who wish to fly during pregnancy. Some airlines may only allow travel up to the 28th week. It may be a requirement to have a note from your doctor confirming stage of pregnancy and that you are fit to fly. Please also remember that you will need to be able to be accepted by the airline for your return flight back to the UK and to take this in to account when booking with us. Please ensure you have adequate insurance cover for your holiday as many policies only cover up to the 28th week. Please check your travel insurance policy for any restrictions which apply to travelling whilst pregnant.
