Directline Holidays FAQs

Why has the price changed?
Directline Holidays are committed to finding you the holiday you want for the best price available. In common with most online retail travel agencies, our prices are collated from many of the major Tour Operators, low cost airlines and bed suppliers. In many cases we receive this data from suppliers first thing in the morning. Occasionally this means the website price displayed on the search results might not be the latest available price (for example where other customers have made bookings since these prices were collated).

When you click on the green button we do a live availability check. This may change the actual price offered for your chosen holiday (either up or down). Whenever we detect a price change of more than £10 we display a prominent message to alert you. Similarly, if for technical reasons a particular holiday cannot be booked online, we display the 'call to book' message. Our sales team then conduct a live price search and will advise you of the current price.
Are taxes included?
We try to include all taxes, supplements and surcharges in the price you see on every part of the website. However we depend on the tour operators, hotels and airlines to provide us with accurate information which can change from minute to minute. Please note that local taxes, such as city and tourism taxes are not covered within the price as these can only be paid locally abroad.
What methods of payment do you accept online and what are your card charges?
We are pleased to be able to accept a variety of payment options for your convenience. Delta, Switch/Maestro, MasterCard and Visa are all currently accepted.

We do not charge fees to our customers using debit cards to book new holidays with us. Credit cards will incur a fee based on 2.5% of the holiday value.

Debit cards   = no fee on new bookings
Credit cards  = 2.5%
Paypal          = 1.99% (via website only)

Debit cards issued outside of the UK will be processed as credit cards, and subject to our credit card charge. Your bank or card issuer may also apply a foreign transaction fee. Cards are accepted subject to security and fraud checks.
Do you give any online discounts for booking on your website?
Directline Holidays offers online discount promotions, from time to time, giving further reductions on holidays. You can often see details of this on our home page or while searching for your holiday.

We have worked hard to build a vibrant and informative website which we think you will find very easy to use. We regularly listen to visitor feedback and continue to tailor our site to suit the needs of our customers. We want to help you easily research, find and book your holiday from the comfort of your home. Offering discounts to our online customers is a great way to thank you for visiting, and allows us to pass on our best prices to you.

We reserve the right to discontinue discount promotions at anytime without notice. Pricing is subject to availability.
What deposit and payment schemes do you offer online?
For the majority of our bookings we are able to offer payment upfront of just a deposit with the remaining balance being required 6 weeks prior to your departure date. If you are making your booking within 6 weeks then we would seek full payment at time of booking. The deposit amount required will vary depending on the best available deals we have to offer at the time. From time to time we and or our suppliers run promotions which allow us to provide you with lower deposit options. Such options will be advised during the payment section of our website. In cases whereby we are acting as the agent for another tour operator, payment terms may require full payment to be provided to us within 12 weeks of departure.
How do I know I have booked?
Once you have completed the online booking process, we will send you a booking confirmation e-mail to the e-mail address you provided.

This e-mail will contain your booking reference number and a summary of your holiday arrangements booked. Please read through it carefully and contact us immediately if you see anything that appears incorrect, including the spelling of passenger names.
How can I find my holiday on your site using a quote reference number from a previous search?
On the front page of our Directline Holidays website you will find a box titled ‘Returning Visitor’. Simply enter in the holiday quote reference you wrote down previously and the holiday you were looking to book will reappear.

Please note that prices may fluctuate and holidays are subject to availability. A holiday may have sold if there is a delay between your search and contacting us or searching for your holiday again on our site using your reference number.
What have you done to make your website secure?
Directline Holidays are committed to ensuring a completely secure online experience when you shop for your holiday on our sites and through our call centre. You will see the VeriSign Trust logo displayed throughout our website.  This means we have passed a variety of checks run by VeriSign to validate our website, giving you peace of mind when searching and booking a holiday with us. We continue to invest in the latest technologies.
