Directline Holidays FAQs

Q: Do infants, those under 2 years old, have any hold baggage allowance?
A: Infants under the age of two on the date of your return flight will not be given hold baggage allowance. This is because the infant would be sat on the lap of an adult during takeoff and landing and does not require a seat. However many airlines will show kindness towards those travelling with infants such as allowing them to take a collapsible buggy and or car seat in addition to the companying adults hold baggage allowance at no additional cost. This is completely at the discretion of the airline and they may impose excess charges upon arrival at the check-in desk.

You may want to consider increasing the hold baggage allowance for one of the adults travelling to allow for some of the additional items you may wish to take on holiday for your infant. If you require a quotation for additional hold baggage allowance you are welcome to contact us. Alternatively please check with your airline prior to travel to find out what items they will consider carrying at no charge for you.
