Disney Theme Parks

Walt Disney World is located over 43 square miles in Orlando, Florida and contains the famous theme parks, over 100 restaurants, 34 hotels, six golf courses, shopping complexes and its own transport system. Listed below is an overview of the most famous parks.

The Magic Kingdom
The Magic Kingdom is seen as the heart of Disney World, and is divided into seven lands, all containing various themed rides and attractions. The Kingdom features all the well known Disney cartoon characters and is home to the iconic Cinderella Castle. A holiday in the Magic Kingdom will permit you to explore, Frontierland, Advertureland, Fantasyland and Tommorowland. You can also take the railroad to the newest land; Mickey’s Toontown Fair.

Epcot
Epcot is double the size of the Magic Kingdom and is sometimes known as the World’s Fair. More educational than some of the other parks, the two areas are Futureworld and  Worldshowcase. Futureworld is themed around technology and human creativity, while the Worldshowcase, located around a huge lagoon, is themed around heritage, architecture and cultural heritage from numerous nations.

Animal Kingdom
The Animal Kingdom is the place to go for lovers of all things animal related. Five times larger than the Magic Kingdom this spectacular park contains tropical forests and a recreation of Africa’s Serengeti Plain complete with free-roaming herds of wild animals. Other areas include Dino-Land, Discovery Island, Asia and Camp Minnie-Mickey. The Animal Kingdom has enough rides, attractions and live acts to keep the family entertained for days.

Disney-MGM Studios
The Disney-MGM studios will appeal to lovers of film and television from the past and present. There are movie themed rides and spectacular recreations of the golden era of Hollywood. You can also tour behind the scenes of actual working movie sets and view the filming of films and television shows.

Disney Water Parks
There are two major water parks in Disney World; Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Both parks are landscaped to perfection and feature water based rides, slides and chutes. Typhoon Lagoon features a wave making machine that can create walls of waves reaching up to six foot in height.
