The resort centre of Elounda is around a mile away and takes approximately half an hour to reach by foot, or a few minutes by taxi. There are a number of bars, restaurants and shops in Elounda as well as a picturesque harbour. Boat trips to the island of Spinalonga and the sunken city of Olounis can be arranged from here. The busier city of Agios Nikolaos is just under 4 miles away for those after lively nightlife. The nearest sandy beach is approximately a mile away.
