Eilat - Explore the coral treasures of the Red Sea
Eilat is Israel’s fascinating, sun-drenched holiday oasis, situated south of the Negev Desert at a point on the southern-most tip of the country. Here you are in sight of four countries - Israel itself, Egypt to the west, Jordan to the east and Saudi Arabia to the south. You can even swim with dolphins at nearby Dolphin Reef.

Eilat has all the trappings of a cosmopolitan, modern resort but actually dates back to the biblical times of King Solomon. Eilat was also a pivotal port for the Romans and the Byzantine rules that followed, due to its ideal position in the heart of the Middle East. After the second world war Eilat was awarded to the Jewish people, under the 1947 UN Partition Plan and since then has developed into a prime beach resort. Today Eilat provides beautiful coastal scenery, the chance to take part in watersports and enjoy the excellent accommodation and nightlife that Eilat has to offer.

Eilat benefits from all year round sun and a pleasant sea temperature of between 20 and 26C. The hottest, driest months are July and August but gentle winds blowing along the Arava Valley to the north east, can have a cooling effect.
