The weather in the Troodos Mountains is almost as sunny as the beach resorts but will always be several degrees cooler than the coast. This beautiful Cyprus region enjoys plenty of Mediterranean sunshine. Average sunshine hours here hit 6 hours a day as early as April and rise to an amazing 10 hours a day in the peak summer season. Deciding when to go to the Troodos Mountains largely depends on what you hope to do. A quick look at our weather statistics show average high temperatures in the high 20’s in July and August. Idyllic sunny days are ideal for relaxed touring and pavement cafes but some UK visitors may find it a little hot for a serious walking break. Weather in the Troodos Mountains – Gorgeous summer conditions
The Troodos Mountains climate is hot and dry in summer but escapes the extreme highs and humidity of beach resorts on the Cyprus coast. You can still expect temperatures in the mid-to-high 20’s but fresh mountain air and an abundance of water offer a welcome relief from the heat of the coast. Troodos warm summer evenings are perfect for pavement cafes and romantic holiday dining in resorts like Omodhos and Kakopetria. Troodos weather in June and September is simply idyllic. It is very unlikely to rain in summer. Most rainfall occurs from December to February.
 
Troodos Mountains Weather – Cyprus walking trails
Perhaps the best time for a walking holiday here is spring and early summer. The region is at scenic best when fruit trees blossom and wild flowers cover the mountainside. The weather in April and May is ideal for activity holidays. October is also surprisingly warm and sunny. The Easter period should enjoy pleasantly warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine. Spring and autumn are also excellent times to find cheap holidays in the Troodos Mountains region. Troodos mountains snowfall normally peaks in January and February. Winter visitors can ski on Mount Olympus in the morning and enjoy some early beach holiday sunshine in the afternoon!
