Beaches
The beaches of Polis are unspoilt and surrounded by natural beauty. Situated at the centre of Chyrysochous Bay at the edge of the breath-taking Akamas peninsula nature reserve, this is the ideal location to soak up the sun on your beach holiday in Cyprus. Arranging a local guide on your activity holiday here is a great way to learn a little more about the native flora, fauna and culture. A variety of water sports are offered, scuba diving and snorkelling the most popular, with dive courses run regularly. Nearby, the Tsada Golf Course is operational and well maintained, set on a stunning backdrop.

Why not spend a day of your cheap holiday in Polis relaxing on a boat tour. There are numerous tour operators in and around Polis, the boats departing from the nearby town of Latchi. The boat will take you along the north coast of the incredible Akamas Peninsula, mooring for lunch in calm turquoise waters. Most boat tours include a freshly cooked BBQ lunch, as well as the opportunity to snorkel in the sea, or soak up the sun on deck.
Sightseeing
Polis is full of sightseeing opportunities as well as being a hub of history and natural beauty. The Akamas Peninsula makes for breath-taking views and the historic Baths of Aphrodite are only a short walk from town. The local Museum of Marion portrays historic developments from the Neolithic to Medieval periods, a must-see for anyone interested in the local history of Polis. Close to the museum is an olive tree claimed to be over 600 years old, this majestic tree is split in two and is still producing olives. The church of Agios Andronikos can be dated back to the 16th century and has been excavated in a way that exposes different time periods through its architecture.
Restaurants and Entertainment
Polis boasts a relaxed atmosphere and an array of restaurants, coffee shops and bars. There are an abundance of local tavernas scattered around Polis, most offering a delicious selection of local food and international cuisine. Whilst dining you can sample variety of locally made wines, be sure to try 'Commandaria', a local sweet dessert wine. For an evening out, why not take a short trip to fishing village of Latish and sample a fish feast caught fresh. In both Polis and Latish there are a variety of friendly pubs, tavernas and nightclubs to satisfy the thirstiest of travellers.
