Beaches
The beaches at Latchi offer a tranquil base, with the stretches of golden sands providing a quiet haven, away from the busier tourist resorts. There are still convenient facilities for visitors, such as sunbeds and umbrellas, and shallow waters allowing for safe swimming conditions.
Water Sports
For those in search of more energetic activities, Latchi offers banana boat rides, jet-skiing, waterskiing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, canoeing, surfing, parasailing and catamaran sailing.
Scuba Diving
Divers have plenty of opportunity to scuba dive whilst on holiday in Latchi, with schools and centres providing PADI courses and equipment hire. The waters along the coastline are clear and warm, allowing for excellent visibility, and there are some wonderful dive sites accessible from the resort.
Boat Trips
A great way to see more of the area, boat trips regularly depart from the harbour, and take in the glorious coastline of the Akamas Peninsula, stopping at delightful hidden coves and bays where visitors can swim, snorkel and enjoy beach barbeques. Private boats are also available for hire.
Sports & Leisure
Hotels and apartments are home to swimming pools and tennis courts, with mountain biking, horse riding and jeep safaris available. There is a golf course nearby in the Tsada hills, with enthusiasts able to play in a scenic country setting, whilst soaking up the wonderful Mediterranean sunshine.
Walking & Hiking
Latchi also offers stunning coastal walks and country hikes, taking in the glorious views and peaceful atmosphere. There's good access to the Akamas Peninsula, with this protected National Park boasting a rugged and unspoilt charm, ideal for exploring on foot, by bike or on horseback. Trails and paths that lead through the gorges, cliffs and quiet beaches provide plenty of rewards for nature-lovers and bird-watchers, and those in search of the real Cyprus.
Eating & Drinking
The resort is known for its first-class dining scene, with the fishing harbour home to some excellent restaurants, and no holiday here complete without sampling the fresh catch of the day. Relax in one of the waterfront tavernas, and sample traditional Cypriot fare, including plenty of fish and seafood, washed down with local wine or ouzo.
Day Trips
Visitors to Latchi can enjoy walks and organized tours of the Arkamas Peninsula to experience the natural beauty of the area, as well as the chance to visit the famous Baths of Aphrodite. The historic Polis, a sleepy market town with authentic charm, is next door, and the resorts of Coral Bay and the World Heritage Site of Paphos are easily visited. Other day trips include the Kykkos Monastery and Mount Olympus in the Troodos Mountains, and the capital, Nicosia.
