One of the top selling points of the Castillo Del Sol is its excellent location – within walking distance both to the beach and the shops, bars and restaurants of the resort. To get to the resort centre, take the steps across the road from the hotel and you will soon be amongst the action. Because of its hillside location, those with severe mobility impairment may not find this hotel suitable. Puerto Rico Beach and marina are around 800m away, however many people also choose to walk to the spectacular Amadores beach, around a 25 minute walk from the complex. Puerto Rico enjoys fantastic sunny weather all year round, due to its location on the island’s southern tip, across the ocean from the Sahara.

 

Accommodation at the complex consists of 87 apartments set across 8 floors that cascade over one another down to the pool. Rooms are bright, clean and spacious. One bedroom apartments sleeping up to 3 adults come with a sofa bed in the living area and a separate twin bedroom. All rooms have a kitchenette with 2 cooking rings, oven and fridge, satellite TV, safe, full bathroom with WC and balcony or terrace. Rooms have superb views of the ocean, valley of Puerto Rico or pool area. There is a maid service 5 times a week, with bed linen changed once a week and towels changed twice a week.

 

For a budget hotel, the Castillo Del Sol provides a good range of facilities. There is a modest-sized pool with attractive sun terraces. During the afternoon, the hotel arranges games and activities for children and adults alike around the pool. A poolside bar serves reasonably priced drinks and snacks throughout the day and into the evening. The hotel also has a highly-thought of ground-floor restaurant that is frequently praised in reviews, serving a delicious range of international and local a la carte dishes. Sports facilities include table tennis and pool tables, mini golf, water polo and aqua aerobics. Regular evening entertainment is put on 4 times a week, including quizzes and live shows. Other facilities include a TV room, currency exchange, laundry service, and internet access.

 

Sports and Leisure 

Board: Guests can choose to self-cater using the facilities provided in their rooms, buy meals at the on-site restaurant or dine out at the many restaurants of the resort.

 

Children: There is a children’s section of the pool, as well as mini golf and table tennis. A good children’s entertainment programme runs throughout the day. Cots are supplied by the hotel free of charge.
