This hotel is ideal for families looking to take advantage of all Praia da Rocha has to offer, with numerous bars, cafes, restaurants, shops and activities to enjoy all just a short walk away. The Algarve is famous for its beaches, and the Praia da Rocha beach is the largest of these, with endless golden sands sloping into the deep blue Atlantic Ocean. June, July, August and September see the hottest temperatures here, with an average of between 24-26°C, while May and October provider cooler temperatures at between 21-22°C.

 

The soft golden sands of the beach are around 500m from the hotel. There is a great selection of watersports on offer at the beach, including jet skis, pedaloes and banana boating.  A street running parallel to the beach is filled with bars, cafes and restaurants. A bus stop located a 5-minute walk from the complex runs a service to the popular Zoomarine animal park, where you can see seals, sea lions, dolphins and other sea creatures. The resort centre of Praia da Rocha is around 700m away, where a huge range of excursions can be arranged including Jeep safaris, sea safaris on a catamaran with BBQ lunch, cave and dolphin spotting cruises along the Algarve coast, fishing trips, various sightseeing tours and overnight trips to Lisbon.

 

Accommodation at the Castelos da Rocha consists of clean, spacious studios sleeping up to 3 adults, one-bedroom apartments sleeping up to 4 or two bedroom apartments sleeping up to 6. Some apartments may be ‘duplex’ style maisonettes where the bedrooms are located on an upper level. All rooms come with a kitchenette including stovetop, oven, microwave toaster, kettle, lounge area with 2 sofa beds, TV with DVD player, washing machine, full bathroom with WC and balcony or terrace.

 

Facilities at the hotel are basic but all you need given the proximity of so many of the resort’s attractions, with the main action centring around the clean, square outdoor pool and surrounding terraces. There is a separate children’s pool and enclosed lawn area.
