Tobago Holidays - Unspoilt Caribbean island

Tobago holidays are slow-paced, relaxing and great for family getaways. Many visitors come on holiday to Tobago to explore the beautiful countryside and wonderful, unspoilt beaches this south Caribbean island has to offer. The rainforests and nature reserves are home to many different species of migratory and marine birds so organised trips to appreciate Tobago's wildlife are highly recommended. Tobago lies 11 degrees north of the equator and just 22 miles north-east of its sister island Trinidad. Tobago's only airport, Crown Point International Airport (TAB), is on the south-western tip of the island, 8 miles from the capital, Scarborough.

Good quality all inclusive resorts and charming holiday villas

Tobago has fewer large scale beachfront hotels than other Caribbean islands such as Barbados or St Lucia. Tobago accommodation tends to take the form of pleasant hotels and a growing number offering all inclusive holiday resorts. The island is known for its Caribbean-style villas in secluded spots around the island - ideal for families. Temperatures in Tobago can reach 32ºC in summer. The dry season is generally December to May, while the wet season runs form June to November, with annual rainfall of around 40” and high humidity.

Visit villages and waterfalls, or head to Trinidad and the Grenadines

There are plenty of excursions to enjoy while on holiday in Tobago. These include rainforest tours, trips to Little Tobago, island tours with stop-offs at local villages, and the chance to swim in waterfalls. Birdwatching, sailing, cycling and golfing are all popular activities when on holiday in Tobago. And of course it's easy to take boat trips to neighbouring Trinidad and the Grenadines during your stay.

Weather in Tobago

Tobago weather is typical of the Caribbean with minimal variation year round and stable high temperatures with cloudless blue skies. With a tropical climate tempered by incoming trade winds, the heat is rarely too stifling, averaging at 28c throughout the year. Although there is a distinct dry and wet season in Tobago, rain can occur at any time but generally falls in brief heavy spells before the sunshine returns. The rainy season lasts from June - December which is a quiet period for Tobago tourism and the countryside becomes lush and full of colour with abundant plant life.

It is easy to get married in Tobago, if you have not been married before then all you need are your passports and some suntan lotion.

There is a three day waiting period from arrival date before you can apply to marry in Tobago and then hold your ceremony 24 hours after that, at your hotel, on beautiful, near deserted beaches, or in private villa settings. Perfect for intimate, natural and stress free weddings Tobago has something to offer everyone from couples travelling alone to small wedding groups and grander affairs of 200 plus - all year round.
