Beaches
The desert island is known for its dazzling beaches, which are ideal for sunbathing and swimming, with the lively Porlamar offering plenty of convenient beach bars and restaurants too. Choose from La Caracola, Playa Bellavista, Playa Guaccuco or Playa Moreno, towards Pampatar.
Water Sports
For those looking for more active pursuits, the beaches around Porlamar offer windsurfing, water skiing, scuba diving, snorkelling, canoeing and paragliding.

Porlamar is the entertainment capital of the island, with plenty of lively bars, restaurants and clubs, which all display the vibrant Latin American atmosphere and culture. The town is also home to the largest casino on Margarita Island.
Days Out
Places of interest to visit include the Church at El Valle, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Diverland amusement park and El Agua Water Park. Also, nearby is the coastal town of Pampatar, and the National Park with its dense mangrove forests.
