Uvero Alto is located on the Eastern coast of the Dominican Republic, and a perfect choice for a relaxing all-inclusive Caribbean holiday. Part of the Punta Cana region, Uvero Alto can be found at the far north of the area, about 50 minutes from Punta Cana airport, and the remote and secluded location of Uvero Alto adds to the beach resorts' charm.

Uvero Alto sits at the very north of Punta Cana, the busiest of all the Dominican Republics' tourist regions. The white sandy beach stretches for almost 50km along the eastern coast, and the longest coral reef in the region, which sits just offshore, offers wonderful safe swimming conditions for guests. In the southern part of Punta Cana, much of the area has been developed, with hotels and resorts lining the coast, each with their own private area of beach offering sunbeds and loungers. As you travel further north towards Uvero Alto, the area still has plenty of deserted stretches of idyllic beach, and the areas outside of the resorts and hotels are relatively undeveloped. The handful of resorts, however, offer all-inclusive luxury, with the main focus, of course, being the fantastic white-sandy beach, backed by swaying palm trees and coconut groves. In Uvero Alto, the hotels and resorts offer an extensive range of facilities and activities, with all manner of water-sports available to guests, including windsurfing, sailing and kayaking. The coral reef offers perfect conditions for snorkelling, with many of the hotels offering free equipment, and the resort is a great place to learn to scuba-dive. Other activities to enjoy whilst staying at the hotels in Uvero Alto are tennis, table-tennis, archery, volleyball, exercise classes and horse-riding, with some resorts even offering a good choice of educational classes, such as cooking, painting and Spanish language lessons. There is little else surrounding the secluded Uvero Alto resort, and nowhere else to eat or shop, so visitors tend to enjoy the restaurants and, in particular, the buffets supplied in the hotels as part of the all-inclusive deals.

Holidays in Uvero Alto are mainly suited to couples and families who are truly looking to get-away-from-it-all, and enjoy some rest and relaxation on the stunning white-sandy beach. Visit some of the great golf courses in the area, or try your hand at swimming with the dolphins. There are some interesting excursions available to take whilst staying in Uvero Alto, ranging from 4x4 tours and jeep safaris, to day trips to the city of La Romana, with its' quaint artisan village, and a visit to the environmental national park at Bayahibe.

December to April sees the driest weather in Uvero Alto, and with highs of 29C and an average of 8 hours of sunshine each day, the winter is the peak tourist season. Night-time temperatures hover around 21C during this time, perfect for drinks on the beach and evening strolls. The beaches are the focus of the resort, and the sea remains very warm, with pleasant water temperatures of 26C - 27C, and a moderate humidity level. The days are generally dry, with between 50mm - 80mm of rain falling each month during the winter.
