Things to do

Marsh Harbour
A holiday to Marsh Harbour places visitors in the capital city of Abacos, and is by far the liveliest town on the island. The seaside town is the home of Abacos' import and export trade, giving visitors the chance to stock up on some souvenirs for their trip back home.

Dining
There are a number of restaurants to sample the islands delicious seafood located in Marsh Harbour, the most impressive being within the imposing pillars of Sea Foam castle. Those seeking more of a local feel when dining out can also visit the several pubs, bars and bistros dotted around Marsh Harbour.

Shopping
The export trade has allowed Marsh Harbour to become quite the shopping destination, and there are a number of outlets where tourists can add to their summer wardrobe, stock up on the local arts and crafts or even pick up some of the locally grown produce to make their own gorgeous meal. Lovers of fine Cuban cigars will be pleased to discover they can stock up their supply in one of the many duty free cigar stores.

Beaches
Visitors on a beach holiday to Abacos would be wise to use Marsh Harbour as a base of operations, as it is within easy reach of some of the Bahamas most unspoilt white sanded beaches. A short boat ride to Treasure Cay beach offers activities like volleyball and diving, and the outdoor grill will certainly satisfy your appetite for the local seafood.

Nature
The northern most tip of Abacos houses Abaco National Park, the home of the Bahama Parrot. This is the perfect day out for those on a family holiday to Marsh Harbour as there are 5000 acres of Pine Forest to explore, with a variety of beautiful bird species to discover.

Water Sports
As is to be expected, the beaches surrounding Marsh Harbour offer visitors a great opportunity to hire a boat, explore the waves on a jet ski or take up a spot of diving at one of islands many diving centres.
