Calangute is Goa's busiest and most developed resort approximately 45 minute ride north from the capital. The road from Calangute beach to Calangute town is lined with stalls selling handcrafts from all over Asia. The beach has steeply shelving sand but is large enough to accommodate visitors even in high season. Calangute - It’s easy to get your ears cleaned at any time of the day Calangute beach can get congested, as it is narrow in places. Travel south, towards Candolim and it tends to quieten down. Constant streams of hawkers sell ice cream and fruit, and it’s easy to get your ears cleaned at any time of the day on Calangute beach! Fifteen minutes south of the main Calangute beachfront area teams of villagers haul in hand nets at high tide or repair them in the shade. Calangute - Top holiday hotels with pools Calangute hotel accommodation is plentiful but demand may outstrip supply in the Christmas and New Year holiday period. The top holiday hotels are well kept; many are resorts with pools and direct beach access. Calangute's bars and restaurants are mainly grouped around the entrance to the beach and along the Baga road.
