Bugibba Holidays Bugibba holidays, situated along Maltas’ rocky northern coastline, is one of the largest and most popular tourist resorts on the island, providing a well-equipped base with plenty of modern facilities. Established in the 1960’s, next door to the picturesque harbour town of St. Paul’s Bay, Bugibba has developed into a rather lively destination, with a mass of hotels and apartments, and plenty of local entertainment.

Holidays in Bugibba – A lively place for a budget holiday The coastline of Bugibba is home to many flat rocks, ideal for sunbathing and enjoying the views across St. Paul’s Bay, with many access points for swimming in the blue waters, which are clean and clear, but quite deep. A large lido in the resort offers good facilities, and the largest sandy beach on the island, Mellieha Bay, is just 8km away. The hub of the resort is Il Bajja, a pedestrian square filled with cheerful bars and reasonably priced restaurants, situated just opposite the promenade. Lined with shops, the lively seafront promenade offers plenty of bars and open-air cafes in which to enjoy the views across the coast or just people-watch. A resort for the budget conscious, Bugibba has plenty of well-priced accommodation, and the area is filled with fairly high-rise hotels and apartments. Neighbouring Qawar, which together with Bugibba fills the eastern side of the peninsula of St. Paul’s Bay, is a slightly more upmarket resort, and offers a quieter atmosphere.
Bugibba Holidays – A good choice for shopping and entertainment Bugibba is a major centre for entertainment in the north of the island, with an excellent choice of restaurants and bars to suit all tastes, and both a cinema and a casino. As well as the usual tourist shops and souvenir stands, Bugibba is home to a large shopping centre and is a good place to browse the locally made goods, such as lace and hand-knitted jumpers, jewellery, and glassware. A craft village in Bugibba, Ta’Qali, is open to the public and an interesting place to watch the local artists at work, producing traditional Maltese pieces.
