Blanes holidays are based in a pleasantly compact family beach resort on the Costa Brava, 26 miles south of Gerona airport and 37 miles north of Barcelona. Blanes is a friendly manageable resort ideal for families and popular with the Spanish themselves. The town offers a much quieter and calmer resort than neighbouring Lloret de Mar. Visitors here can enjoy a wide selection of cafes and restaurants and plentiful bars and discos but the resort retains a pleasantly restrained atmosphere by day.

Breaks in Blanes very much centre on the excellent beaches: two miles of coastline with tiny coves and some of the longest beaches on the Costa Brava. Blanes getaways also revolve around the long seafront promenade, the marina and the attractive old part of town with its medieval castle and some of the nicest and most authentic restaurants in town. The resort offers plenty of watersports and could also include first rate golf. Stays here are not complete without a visit to the truly outstanding botanical gardens. Children will enjoy the attractions at Marineland and Water World, one of Europe’s largest water parks.

Blanes Holidays – Easy economical excursions to Gerona and Barcelona
Blanes visitors can make use of regular coast trains to visit a string of popular Costa Brava beaches. Regular buses run north to the immensely popular resort of Lloret de Mar. Other worthwhile excursions include the monastery at Montserrat and the lovely medieval walled centre of Gerona. Trains are a superb and economical way to visit the fabulous city of Barcelona and local ferries run along the coast to Tossa de Mar.
