Montenegro Holidays
A popular choice for families
Montenegro holidays are fast becoming a popular choice for families and couples looking for a relaxing holiday in Europe. Montenegro is situated in the south of the Adriatic, nestled between Croatia, Albania, Serbia and Bosnia. Montenegro offers holidaymakers the chance to experience the beauty of the Balkans, with stunning beach resorts such as Budva or Becici. Montenegro remains one of Europe’s best kept secrets, totally unspoilt with natural beauty that rivals any where in the world.
Beaches, lakes and forests
A holiday in Montenegro has a lot to offer the British holidaymaker with small villages & hamlets, hidden lakes, mountains, dense forests and pristine beaches. The people of Montenegro are very welcoming and have embraced the tourism developments in their country. The hospitality of the “mountain people” is unmatched anywhere in Europe; sample the traditional food of smoked ham and sir cheese accompanied by local wines.
Montenegro Holiday Resorts
Montenegro has a variety of holiday resorts to choose from. A popular choice of resort is Budva, a famous historic town and fashionable beach resort on the coast of the Adriatic. Another Montenegro holiday resort that is growing in popularity is Becici, a modern beach resort near Budva. There is also the unique resort of Sveti Stefan, a St Tropez style resort with an amazing setting.
Weather in Montenegro
Despite being one of Europe’s smallest countries, Montenegro has three climate zones: coastal, continental and mountain. Lowland and coastal areas enjoy mild winters and long, hot, sunny summers with average temperatures climbing to 30°C. With sea temperatures reaching 27°C, it is the ideal location for anyone looking for a beach or water sports holiday. Away from the moderating influence of the Adriatic, July/August temperatures as high as 33°C are common in the capital, Podgorica, in central (continental) Montenegro. The mountain areas, with their sub-alpine climate and forests, clean rivers and beautiful lakes, provide an idyllic refuge should the mid-summer heat elsewhere prove too much.
