As a coastal agricultural village it boasts limitless opportunities for walks amid lush Mediterranean vegetation like cypresses, olives and citrus orchards, or along its quiet beaches and brilliant turquoise sea. It is also close enough to the famous city of Dubrovnik to offer numerous other opportunities.
Beaches
Plat boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the Dubrovnik Riveira, peacefully nestled in restful coves ideal for snorkelling, swimming and sunbathing. Plat’s beaches face south-west into Zupa bay so visitors are guaranteed plenty of sun.
Dining
A small number of romantic cafes and friendly, pleasant restaurants can be found around the village of Plat. The harbour village of Cavtat is a short 20-minute journey away from Plat by bus or water taxi, offering numerous restaurants specialising in seafood. A trip to the larger city of Dubrovnik also presents a variety of options including a range of national cuisines.
Dubrovnik
A short bus or boat trip to the magnificent walled city of Dubrovnik offers a wealth of historical sights including Arboretum Trsteno, the oldest arboretum in the world, and other buildings dating back many centuries. There are many historical churches dedicated to patron saint Sveti Vlaho (Saint Blaise). Dubrovnik also boasts a plethora of bars and restaurants, as the city is a regular stop on cruises of the coast of Croatia.

Yacht cruises are available from the city of Dubrovnik for visitors to Plat who wish to explore the beautiful coastline of the Zupa region, or simply enjoy themselves and the Adriatic Sea on a fully-equipped yacht.
Boat Trips
The Adriatic Islands of the Dalmatia region are easily accessible from Plat, including the beautiful Mljet and Elafiti. These islands variously offer historical buildings and ruins, sandy beaches and idyllic natural settings. The coastal port of Cavtat is also accessible by boat and boasts Roman ruins alongside a seafront promenade filled with restaurants and bars.
