Beaches
If you are looking for some idyllic little beaches dotted over a sun drenched island then look no further than a holiday in Hvar. The beaches on Hvar are exceptionally good and you can take your pick from those at Stari Grad or take a water taxi to the nearby popular beaches on the Pakleni Islands.
Water Sports
As you would expect from a sun kissed island, water sports are very popular on Hvar. The warm water temperatures are perfect for swimming, windsurfing, diving and jet-sking. There are numerous dive schools based all over the Croatian coastline making Hvar the perfect location for scuba-diving enthusiasts.
Cruises
Cruises from Hvar to neighbouring islands such as Mljet, Split and Jelsa should not be missed. You can visit sun drenched beaches on Brac Island. Cruises are the best way to see the little islands and neighbouring resorts in this area.
Restaurants
Hvar town has been nicknamed the new St Tropez due to the amount of celebrities cruising around the islands, and the growth in restaurants has reflected this. You can take your pick from first class international restaurants serving fresh fish and seafood from around the world to sunny pavement cafes serving traditional Croatian dishes, all washed down with local wines and spirits.
Nightlife
The warm evening temperatures make the beer gardens and bar terraces the perfect place to relax in Hvar. The entertainment can be as low key or as lively as you like. You can choose from small intimate bars to lively open air cocktail bars down by the beach featuring Full Moon parties until dawn. If your taste is for huge open air discos then take the ferry to Brac where you will find one of the larges nightclubs in Croatia.
Shopping
Shopping in Hvar has expanded recently and there are many designer boutiques and little stores that sell hand crafted goods. For larger markets take the ferry to Split where you can spend a day wandering the shops and designer stores.
