The Hohe Tauern National Park is one of Austria’s largest parks and the perfect setting for mountain biking, horse riding and hiking. Hohe is home to glacial lakes, the famous 380 metre high Krimml waterfalls and the highest mountain in Austria, the Glossglockner.

 

Holidays in Tyrol do undoubtedly offer something special during the winter months. Ski season in Tyrol begins in November and thousands of holidaymakers from around the world come to sample some of the best skiing and snowboarding conditions. For non-skiers there are beautiful cities to enjoy such as Bolzano in South Tyrol, and Salzburg with its popular tours retracing the locations of the film The Sound of Music. Winter evenings in the Tyrol can be spent enjoying moonlight skiing and skating before experiencing the best après ski at the world’s top ski resorts.
